New Milford Police Warn Of Power Scam

NEW MILFORD — Scammers claiming to work for a utility company are calling New Milford residents, demanding immediate payment and threatening to shut off their electricity, authorities said this week. Thieves representing themselves as Eversource employees tell residents that they have an outstanding balance with the utility company and must wire the payment through MoneyGram the same day, police said.
