Florida firearms enthusiasts will save a few dollars starting this month because of a new law that eliminates the sales tax on gun club memberships.. The change, which state records show will cost $1.2 million annually, was advocated by the National Rifle Association. Marion Hammer, a Florida lobbyist and past president of the NRA, said the group became aware in 2010 that the state Department of Revenue had stepped up its collection of sales tax on gun club memberships.
