By Adam Armour Itawamba County Times FULTON – County leaders are taking the first tentative steps toward the construction of a new Itawamba County Jail. Members of Itawamba County’s board of supervisors discussed earlier this week the need to build a new, larger jail to house the county’s growing population of inmates. The discussion took place during the board’s regular bi-weekly meeting. In the end, the board decided to seek the advice of an architect as to how much a new jail would cost the county. This is a conversation to which the board has returned several times over the past few years.
