(Scroll down to see a video and photo gallery from Friday's weekly Senior Center breakfast.)MOUNT CARMEL — The breakfast gathering every Friday morning at the Mount Carmel Senior Center is extra special these days because the seniors don’t know how many more times they’ll get to enjoy the event.The Mount Carmel Senior Center as it currently exists will come to an end on July 1 when the independent senior organization’s $1 annual lease for space on the second floor of City Hall expires.In February the Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted 4-3 to take over the Senior Center, although technically the town will have to start a new senior center because the current center is a chartered, independent organization.On Tuesday the BMA voted 4-3 to create a committee which will be appointed by Mayor Larry Frost, to advise the BMA on the formation of a new senior center organization.Last week Richard Blevins who chairs the current Senior Center Board of Directors asked Mayor Frost to visit the senior center and answer some questions about the senior center.
