Mcdonald's Awards 55 Local Students

(Observer Staff Reports) Fifth-five high school and college students from the Charlotte area have been awarded $1,000 scholarships from Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Carolina and from Charlotte-area owner-operators of McDonald's restaurants.The scholarships were presented during an awards ceremony May 27 at the University Hilton in north Charlotte. Winners were picked on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, community involvement, and leadership potential.
