Marathon of Honduras defeated MLS club D.C. United 3-1 on Tuesday in the opening game in Group B of the CONCACAF Champions League. Walter Martinez gave the Honduran league champions a 1-0 led in the 23rd minute. Brazilian defender Luciano Emilio leveled for United in the 48th, but late goals by Jerry Palacios in the 82nd and Mario Berrios in the 87th gave Marathon the victory.
