A man drowned in the pool of an Augusta hotel Friday night, Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said. About 7:15 p.m., first-responders were called to the Days Inn at 3654 Wheeler Road. The man, who had not been identified late Friday, is believed to have scaled a fence around the pool to go for a swim.
