Man Charged In Kent Sexual Assault

KENT — An 18-year-old man is being held on $100,000 bond after police charged Monday him with sexually assaulting a minor. Samuel Elder, of Gainesville, Fla., was charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor, both felony offenses. Police said the incident took place Feb. 19 in Kent, but they would not provide details. Court records show the incident took place at Marvelwood School and that the victim was a 14-year-old girl, according to the Republican-American. Elder was arraigned Monday in state Superior Court in Bantam, where he’s scheduled to return June 1.
