The Lynchburg area is on the southern edge of an area of the Mid-Atlantic at an "enhanced" risk of severe storms, according to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center.

New Broward school bus cameras will catch motorists who illegally pass

Drivers who pass a stopped school bus should soon expect to be caught and ticketed, under a new program the Broward School District is launching. The School Board is expected to vote in January on a contracts that would install cameras on the exteriors of more than 1,000 school buses. The cameras would allow law enforcement to detect vehicles that pass a school bus while its stop arm is enabled.
