A small holdout house in Denver’s Berkeley neighborhood will be preserved as a rare example of a bygone era after a unanimous City Council vote this month to name the 115-year-old home a historic landmark. Families from all backgrounds have called the Currie/Dryer Cottage at 4450 N. Tennyson St. home since it was built by Canadian immigrant and carpenter Arthur Wellington Currie in 1909, according to city records. Currie built the house — along with a larger bungalow next door — but sold the property to Joseph and Josephine Dryer in 1913 after Currie’s wife died.
