CEDAR RAPIDS — Chairs of the three major political parties in Linn County have expressed concern over sample ballots mailed out by the county Auditor’s Office — which have confused hundreds of residents.In a Monday news release, Linn County Democrats Chair Bret Nilles, Linn County GOP Chair Justin Wasson and Linn County Libertarian Party Chair Matthew Cannon shared “extreme concern” about the Auditor’s Office handling of sample ballots mailed out in late September.“The primary concern is that the County Auditor’s office is not taking sufficient action to notify the public of this mistake and they call upon him to bring this issue to all residents of Linn County,” the release states.The Auditor’s Office mailed 90,500 sample ballots to residents with the hopes of educating voters and boosting absentee ballot requests for the Nov.
