A Cedar Rapids man faces multiple charges after officials said he attacked a woman with a machete Sunday in the 2000 block of Park Avenue SE. According to the criminal complaint, Virgil P. McGuire, 31, “came at the victim in a threatening manner with a machete that he had concealed on his person.”The complaint states McGuire then used that machete to “cause $200 to $500 in damage” to the woman’s vehicle.
