Pennsylvania recorded just over $6.1 billion in gambling revenue in 2024, setting a new record total for the Commonwealth.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported a 7.7% increase from 2023, as the popularity of iGaming and sports betting increases. Those income streams were the big winners, with online casinos returning revenue increases of over 25%, worth around $2.2b.
Sportsbooks also spiked up more than 11%, worth around $511 million, as detailed in a press release from the Board.
Conversely, those gains were not reflected across the full gambling vista.
Slots remained the Keystone State’s biggest single source of gambling revenue with a solid return of $2.4b, but this was a marginal slump of around 0.66% compared to the previous 12 months.
Table games also declined by just over 3.5%, down to $937m.

Shifting habits and changing customer preferences for gaming
The importance of gambling revenues was reflected with the Pennsylvania state purse collecting around $2.7b, boosted further by the annual slot machine license fees that are part of the system.
An increase in revenues brings the benefit of higher taxes returned for the greater good of the state, but as always the need for responsible gaming initiatives and support for compulsive gamblers is paramount.
Overall, the bigger picture looks to be a positive one for the gaming sector in PA.
Habits continue to shift with changing customer preferences, but the numbers reflect the growth, particularly in sports betting and online casinos.

A number of Reddit users are aiming to make a stand, as a protest movement has erupted on the platform against entrepreneur Elon Musk.
At the inauguration of Donald Trump, the X owner made a hand gesture which spread across social media as some suggested it resembled a Nazi salute. The moment has sparked debate with the Tesla CEO denying that was the case.
It was shortly after when this online protest began, with NBC News reporting that more than 50 subreddit communities have been identified as no longer allowing links from X to be shared on the platform.
The different communities that are protesting range in size, with a total of at least 40 million members according to the amount of people in the subreddits.
Communities across Reddit protest against Elon Musk
In one of the posts, within a community hub for fans to talk about the going-ons of the game Destiny 2, the moderator stated that Elon Musk “showed the world who he truly is.”
They went on to say that “effective immediately, we will no longer be allowing links to X, formerly Twitter…” The decision was taken by the communities moderation team, with the hub being home to 910,000 members.
An independent Formula 1 community on Reddit, which has 4.8M members, has also announced it will be banning X content and the moderator is urging journalists, creators, and photographers to make their content available on alternative platforms.
“We had already been encouraging Bluesky as a source over other platforms, since by not forcing users to log in it is more accessible and it does not suffer from the various other issues affecting Twitter,” the moderator said.
Several of the groups have referenced the ban in an effort to reduce traffic to the social media site, suggesting that every click lost will add up.

Okay that that is a little bit niche when it comes to the headline above but stick with me. First we have to address the fact that whatever development meetings took place at All Parts Connected and tinyBuild – the devs and publishers of All Will Fall, seem to have somehow been based on what would be my perfect game.
