LOS ANGELES (AP) — For a thousand years the Cave Temples of Dunhuang were a popular rest stop, marketplace and religious shrine for people traveling China's Silk Road. Now they are coming to Los Angeles, both in spirit and reality. Full-scale, hand-painted replicas of three of the site's more than 450 caves have been erected on The Getty museum's hilltop campus overlooking LA. The "Cave Temples of Dunhuang: Buddhist Art on the Silk Road" exhibit opens Saturday and continues until Sept.Read more on NewsOK.com
