Boston Celtics’ all-star point guard Kyrie Irving is done for the rest of the season, including the playoffs, according to a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Irving on March 24 underwent surgery on his left knee to remove a tension wire that had been inserted during a 2015 procedure to repair a fractured patella, ESPN said. Irving averaged 24.4 points, 5.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game in his first season in Boston. The loss will severely hamper the Celtics’ hopes of going deep in the playoffs. This is a developing story and will be updated.
