Indianapolis -- Knauf Insulation says a final proposal it made Wednesday to about 500 workers was rejected Sunday, but both sides are working on a labor contract extension through August. Knauf manufactures fiberglass at its plant in Shelbyville. The extension will last about three weeks with Glass, Molders, Pottery and Plastics International Union Local 3, said Indianapolis-based attorney Ken Yerkes, labor counsel for Knauf.
