MIAMI — In the wake of Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler taking a measured approach to a report of the team listening to outside trade offers, his agent unleashed several salvoes of a far different tone. In the hours after Butler addressed and dismissed the report as part of feeding the NBA information machine, agent Bernie Lee struck a decidedly different chord when the author of the initial NBA report added another team to the mix of potential suitors that reportedly would be embraced by the Butler camp. In a report titled as “Breaking News” on ESPN’s social-media feeds, the network’s NBA insider, Shams Charania, reported, “The Phoenix Suns are another team that Jimmy Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, has indicated in league circles that the six-time All-Star is open to as a destination while Miami listens to trade offers, sources tell ESPN, joining Dallas, Houston and Golden State.” That’s when Lee began a stream of social-media posts on the X (Twitter) platform that opened with, “Alright listen.
