By Juliet Eilperin and Darryl Fears, The Washington Post Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke recommended Thursday that President Donald Trump alter some of the national monuments established by his immediate predecessors, a move expected to reshape federal land and water protections and certain to trigger major legal fights. While Zinke submitted a report to the White House Thursday and told the Associated Press he backed changing the designations for a “handful” of protected federal sites, the Interior Department did not release any specifics.
