On the one hand, the fourth seat will be filled by newbie judge Ellen DeGeneres. On the other, the "Idol Gives Back" charity special will return to the schedule after taking a one-year hiatus in the midst of the financial meltdown. The third edition of the fundraiser will air on April 21, during the top-seven Wednesday results show, according to a press release issued by the program's producers. "This is our opportunity to reach out and support the people of America and around the world who need our compassion and generosity to improve or even save their lives," "Idol" creator and 19 Entertainment CEO Simon Fuller said in the statement. "In today's tough economic times, it's more important than ever — but more difficult than ever — to raise money to help those in need," added Fox President of Alternative Programming Mike Darnell.
