A 39-year-old Augusta man was fatally shot early this morning when a homeowner found him breaking into a Wrightsboro Road residence, the Richmond County coroner says. The dead man was identified as Anthony James Lawson, of the 3000 block of Deans Bridge Road Augusta, Coroner Mark Bowen said in a news release.
