A lot of history will merge when Herring Bank transforms a 1941 chapel into its downtown Amarillo branch. Herring Bank, founded in Vernon in 1899, will spend more than $2 million renovating the building at Southeast Fifth Avenue and South Pierce Street that originally housed Blackburn Funeral Chapel, Herring President Rob Parker said. “Just envision it,” Parker said.
