ROGERSVILLE — The big boys are being asked to get out their two-wheel toys for a good cause Saturday, Sept. 22 in the 18th annual motorcycle Toy Run to benefit Of One Accord ministry’s Christmas for the Children program. Christmas for the Children provides toys and other presents to more than 1,000 disadvantaged youngsters every year. Although about 750 of those children are “adopted” by churches, civic organizations and other groups, the other 250 are covered by Of One Accord, mainly with funds raised during the annual Toy Run. The Toy Run route Bikers will meet at noon at the Big Lots parking lot on Park Boulevard in Rogersville and depart for Church Hill via Highway 11-W around 12:15 p.m. Around 12:45 p.m., the Rogersville convoy will link with more riders in Church Hill at the Homestead Antiques parking lot in the Church Hill Shopping Center. The combined group will then depart for Rogersville at 1 p.m., taking the scenic Goshen Valley Road route to Burem Road, and then back into Rogersville, where they will rally at the Rogersville City Park shortly before 2 p.m. Lunch will be waiting for the riders when they arrive at the park, along with a classic car cruise-in and a live band.
