CHURCH HILL — Hawkins County Schools is hoping to get a head start on filling soon-to-be-vacated job positions with a job fair scheduled for Thursday afternoon 4-6:30 p.m. at Church Hill Intermediate School. HCS Human Resources Director Teresa Drinnon told the Times News on Monday she's anticipating at least 12 teacher job openings as of the end of the school year, although that number usually increases as summer break approaches. Schools are also always looking for employees in a variety of other positions such as substitute teachers, instructional assistants, bus drivers, cafeteria workers and maintenance staff, and the school system is anticipating the creation of one new technology position. "We have some folks who are retiring at the end of the year, so we are looking at filling those positions, but they're not posted yet," Drinnon said.
