MOORESBURG — A tip from a bail bond company reportedly led the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office last week to an indoor marijuana grow, where 93 plants were seized, as well as several firearms including an automatic rifle and homemade silencer. On Wednesday, Brandon Lee Winstead, 38, 105 Petty Lane, Mooresburg, was arraigned in Hawkins County Sessions Court on charges including manufacturing marijuana, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of a prohibited weapon, and marijuana possession. Winstead allegedly admitted to the HCSO that he owned the property where the marijuana grow was located during a May 22 raid at 103 Petty Lane, next door to his residence. The marijuana grow was reported by bail bondsmen who went to the grow house looking for someone wanted on an out-of-county warrant. HCSO Narcotics Unit.
