While the Blackhawks, Bulls and the rest of the programming on the new Chicago Sports Network remains blacked out on Comcast, the cable giant is raising the monthly fee it charges subscribers to access its diminished local sports offerings. The 5.5% increase, which took effect Wednesday, bumps up the regional sports network fee to $20.25 per month for Comcast subscribers in Chicago and the suburbs.

The United Auto Workers have reached an agreement with Rivian Automotive Inc. that would make it easier to unionize the company’s workforce — contingent on the electric-vehicle maker reaching profitability. Illinois gained nearly 68,000 people from 2023 to 2024, reversing a recent trend of population losses, the U. S. Census Bureau reported Thursday. Nationwide, the population grew by nearly 1.0%, surpassing 340 million.
