It's the fifth profitable quarter in a row for General Motors Co. as sales continue to be brisk for its new lineup of small cars and SUVs.General Motors Co.'s profit more than tripled in a blockbuster first quarter as it reeled in $3.2 billion from improving U.S. sales.
