EXCLUSIVE: FX has put in development a drama from playwright/screenwriter Stephen Belber. The untitled project is a New York-based thriller chronicling a murder and cover up. Instead of a standard pitch, Belber wrote a detailed treatment, which was sent to cable networks. Several were interested, with the project ultimately going to FX. Belber started off as a playwright, writing Tape, The Laramie Project and Match, whose 2004 Broadway production starred Frank Langella and Ray Liotta.
