A North Carolina-based grocer is planning to open a store this fall in the former Dom’s Kitchen & Market location in Lincoln Park, the company confirmed Thursday. The Fresh Market has posted listings for nine managerial roles at the 2730 N. Halsted St. location, including jobs overseeing the grocery, produce, bakery and meat and seafood departments, as first reported by Crain’s. The job listings, dated Tuesday and Wednesday, suggest The Fresh Market plans to hire for 70 to 100 positions in Lincoln Park. A spokesperson for The Fresh Market confirmed it planned to open a store this fall, saying the company aimed “to deliver a familiar yet elevated shopping experience” in Lincoln Park. “We understand how cherished Dom’s was to the local community, and we are committed to providing an exceptional shopping experience that honors this legacy,” the company said. The Fresh Market operates supermarkets across 22 states; its four existing Illinois stores are all suburban. Dom’s Lincoln Park, along with Dom’s Old Town and 33 Foxtrot locations, shuttered abruptly in April five months after the companies announced plans to merge.
