The stars will descend on Tybee Island in a few weeks for filming of the big budget movie “Baywatch,” but not all islanders have gotten caught up in the Hollywood glitz and glamour. Some city officials and business owners are taking issue with a recent change to the scope of the project, which expands the amount of public space that will be needed for the movie during one of the island’s busiest times of the year. While Tybee City Council members, in a narrow 4-3 vote Thursday, ultimately approved a revised permit for “Baywatch,” it wasn’t until they’d had a lengthy discussion with representatives of the film. “When we approved this originally, the footprint wasn’t taking up the entire beach on the south side,” Councilwoman Wanda Doyle said.
