Lago Mar Beach Resort & Club in Fort Lauderdale has been sued by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of a line cook who was allegedly fired after seeking a six-week leave of absence. The lawsuit was filed on Monday in U.S. District Court in Fort Lauderdale against Lago Mar Properties LLC on behalf of the worker, who claimed the company terminated her four days after she experienced a stillbirth and a day after she requested a six-week leave of absence to recover.
