Faa Bill Protects Some Oklahoma City Employees During Government Shutdown

By Justin Wingerter Staff Writer jwingerter@oklahoman.comBuried deep within a 1,200-page bill reauthorizing the Federal Aviation Administration is a 48-word provision that could mean a lot to federal employees in Oklahoma City someday. Section 518 states that “employees at the Aircraft Registry Office” in Oklahoma City be designated “excepted employees in the event of a shutdown or emergency furlough to ensure that the office remains open" during a government shutdown. The bill was passed easily by the House last month and the Senate last week.Read more on NewsOK.com
