Evaluation Set For Man Accused Of Nursing Home Slay

A 58-year-old dementia patient accused of bludgeoning his 86-year-old nursing home roommate to death with a piece of furniture has been ordered committed to Bridgewater State Hospital for a mental evaluation.The beating occurred sometime before 9 a.m. Tuesday at CareOne on Thomas Patten Drive in Randolph, authorities said.James Schappell, 86, died Wednesday night, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael W.
