The Rockies led Miami 8-4 entering the ninth inning Tuesday night at Coors Field. Then the Rockies lost 9-8 when the Marlins scored five runs in the top of the inning off shaky relievers Tyler Kinley and Angel Chivilli.
Talk about the one that got away.
Kinley served up a bases-load, two-run double to Miami designated hitter Jake “Smash” Burger.
BOULDER — The old guard wasn’t worried about the Mid 12. Or the Nebraska trip. Or CSU and all those old wounds. Deion Sanders was eight points away from 6-6. Have the Buffs learned how to get out of their own way?

Colorado wildlife officials are relocating two reintroduced wolves and their pups after a series of livestock depredations — a setback for the historic and controversial reintroduction program launched late last year.

The Broncos did not cut their roster. They injected it with Botox.
No nip or tuck revealed this more than releasing Tim Patrick. Few players have been more popular or respected in the locker room than the veteran receiver. And the Broncos absolutely made the right move by cutting him.

Firefighters contained a 35-acre brush fire burning near a Denver Water treatment plant and Roxborough Park on Tuesday night, according to Douglas County officials.
West and South Metro Fire Rescue crews responded to the fire burning near the Foothills Treatment Plant at 5:15 p.m., fire officials said in posts on X.
The fire did not damage any structures, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office issued voluntary evacuation warnings for the area of Rampart Range and Roxborough Park roads, but rescinded it 40 minutes later when fire crews contained the blaze.
“The cause appears to be a bird that hit a power line and fell to the ground, catching the grass on fire,” officials said Tuesday night.
People in the area may still see smoke from smoldering vegetation, according to West Metro Fire Rescue officials.
