ROGERSVILLE — The driver of a logging truck that overturned on Highway 11-w near Rogersville Friday afternoon reportedly told rescuers his seatbelt saved his live. The accident occurred on 11-W near the Choptack Road intersection just west of Rogersville around 2:15 p.m. Hawkins County Emergency Management Agency director Gary Murrell said the fully loaded logging truck was headed west on 11-w when the left front tire blew. The driver, whose name wasn't available, reportedly stated that the truck initially veered right, but he was able to steer it left to avoid crashing into a wooded area. "He was on the right hand shoulder, and instead of veering off into the woods he crossed over the westbound lanes and into the median where the truck turned over," Murrell said.
