By Emma Crawford Kent Daily Journal TUPELO – Discipline referrals are down at Tupelo High School and Tupelo Middle School this year, and a new method of addressing student tardiness could be part of the trend. Eddie Peasant, TPSD assistant superintendent, presented discipline data from the first nine weeks of the current school year at the district’s board of trustees meeting on Tuesday. Compared to the first nine weeks of the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 school years, Peasant said, the number of major and minor discipline issues at the two schools has significantly decreased. Bus infractions have also decreased this year, despite being up at this time last year. Minor infractions include consequences for being tardy to class.
