Twenty years ago, Karl Malone and Dennis Rodman did battle. First on the basketball court. Then in a pro wrestling ring. About a month removed from their NBA Finals showdown in which Rodman’s Bulls edged Malone’s Jazz, the two future Hall of Famers met in World Championship Wrestling’s squared circle. Rodman would align himself with the New World Order faction’s leader “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan to take on Diamond Dallas Page and Malone at WCW’s Bash at the Beach pay-per-view on July 12, 1998. This was during the peak of the “Monday Night War” when the battles between WCW and the WWF (now WWE) grew pro wrestling’s mainstream popularity to the highest heights it had ever seen.
