BETHLEHEM — Delmar Fire Commissioners are elected to a job that pays no salary, has no perks and demands a hefty measure of civic duty. So many Delmar residents were surprised by scathing campaign emails hurled in advance of Tuesday's close race to fill one of the five seats. Delmar Fire Police Captain George Williams won the job 132 to 123.His opponent was former volunteer firefighter Heather Dorsey, owner of Dorsey Sign Company, who notes that Delmar Fire District has never had a female commissioner since it was founded in 1911.
