Despite a two-year hiatus from competition, Bangor International Airport Airfield Maintenance Assistant Supervisor James Scripture was once again victorious at the annual Snow Plow Rodeo recently held in Buffalo, New York.

Bird movies at the Stonington Opera House

STONINGTON – In collaboration with the Island Heritage Trust Wings, Waves & Woods Festival Opera House Arts is showing three bird themed movies over the weekend at the Stonington Opera House: “The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill” on Friday, May 20 at 7 p.m., “The Eagle Huntress” on Saturday, May 21 at 7 p.m., and “March of the Penguins” on Sunday, May 22 at 2 p.m. Purchase tickets online at operahousearts.org. STEM college research and career exploration course offered to high school students at UMaine tuition-free

ORONO — Registration is open for an innovative four-week college STEM research course for qualified high school students (rising grade 11-12) offered by the University of Maine, July 18 to Aug. 11 in Orono. Sections of this course are offered at the UMaine Hutchinson Center and UMaine Machias on the same dates.

Introduction to Integrated Science and Career Exploration (INT 188) will meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. High school students will earn three college credits upon completion of the course.
