Pontiac man finds bomb on front porch

A Pontiac man found what authorities describe as a "viable" bomb on his front porch Monday morning, which was subsequently disarmed by Michigan State Police bomb technicians.Oakland County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home in the 100 block of Evelyn Court at around 10:30 a.m. by the Pontiac man, who said he saw the object on his porch and picked it up to investigate.

 

H.W. Kaufman Group of Farmington Hills names Josh Hunegs as corporate VP

Josh Hunegs was named corporate vice president of H.W. Kaufman Group, based at the company's Farmington Hills headquarters. He will report to Dan Muldowney, executive vice president and chief financial officer.Hunegs previously worked at Wells Fargo, where he held several different financial roles, most recently as a director, specializing in foreign exchange in the Wells Fargo Chicago office.

 

Perry Ohren named board chairman of the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies

Perry Ohren, CEO of Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit was named board chairman of the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies, an international association. The network was founded in 2017 with the combination of the Association of Jewish Family and Children's Agencies and the International Association of Jewish Vocational Services.

 

Teen stabbed, robbed while on bike ride in Bloomfield Township

Bloomfield Township police are investigating after a teenager was reportedly stabbed, punched and robbed of his bike Monday evening. The 17-year-old victim was reportedly riding his bike on Ward Road at around 9:25 p.m. when an unidentified black male stepped in front of him, stopping him, and demanded his wallet, backpack and bike.

 

One hurt after personal watercraft collide

Two men from Sterling Heights crashed their personal watercraft into one another Sunday evening on Bald Eagle Lake. Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office at 5:54 p.m. with a report of two personal watercraft operators riding in a reckless manner. "The subjects were reportedly playing chicken' and spraying each other with water kicked up by their personal watercrafts, when they collided at the south end of Bald Eagle Lake," deputies reported.

 

Rochester College raises more than $100,000 at Partnership Dinner

Rochester College raised more than $105,000 for student scholarships at its 47th annual Partnership Dinner on April 21. During the event, Tom Dluzen, CEO of presenting sponsor Chief Financial Credit Union, announced the establishment of its 3:1 gift challenge. For every $3 Rochester College raised, they pledged to match $1, up to $10,000.

 

Teenagers' fight in Oxford involves knife

A 17-year-old from Burton is suspected of attempting to stab someone during a Sunday evening argument and fight. Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office had been called to Hunters Rill in Oxford Township at about 7:17 p.m. with a report of a fight involving possibly ten people and with one person possibly stabbed.

 

Boat abandoned as deputies respond to reckless behavior

A boat was left aground in Case Lake on Friday, as deputies were searching for the watercraft because of alleged reckless boating.Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office were called to Cass Lake at about 9:15 p.m. Friday by the Keego Harbor Police Department following a complaint from another boater.

 

Four burned when boat catches afire

Four people were burned on Sunday evening when a fire broke out after fueling their boat on Lake Orion. Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office and firefighters from the Lake Orion Fire Department were summoned at 8:16 p.m. to South Andrews Street in the Village of Lake Orion.

 

Sterling Heights man injured playing 'chicken' on jet skis on Bald Eagle Lake

A Macomb County man was injured Sunday evening when he was playing a game of "chicken" with a friend as both rode personal watercrafts on Bald Eagle Lake in Oakland County, according to police.Oakland County Undersheriff Michael McCabe said the injured man and a buddy were operating the jet skis in a reckless manner about 6 p.
