MTA staff recognized after reuniting missing autistic teen with family

NEW HAVEN >> Four Metropolitan Transit Authority employees were recognized Thursday for reuniting a missing, non-verbal, autistic teen with his family last month.Conductor Sean Tedesco and Assistant Conductor Charles Dolan knew right away that the teen on board their westbound 11:46 a.m. train from New Haven on April 16 should not have been traveling alone, according to a release.

HARTFORD >> The U.S. attorney's office Wednesday announced another conviction in the continuing fight against the deadly opioid epidemic in Connecticut.Ramon L. Killings, 39, of Bridgeport pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of distribution of heroin following the fatal overdose of one of his customers, according to a release.

Report: 31 New Haven police sergeants pass lieutenants' exam

NEW HAVEN >> The New Haven Independent reports that 31 New Haven police sergeants who took the civil service exam to become lieutenants passed it and the police chief now would determine who will be promoted "The test results were announced Tuesday as the Civil Service Commission approved an eligible roster for the rank of police lieutenant at its regular monthly meeting, with several policing officers on that list watching and waiting anxiously for the results," the Independent reported.
