One hundred percent of all donations received go directly to providing summer camp experiences to local underprivileged children. OLD LYME (AP) >> The former pastor of a Connecticut church has been convicted of sexually assaulting female parishioners, including a 15-year-old girl who later had suicidal thoughts.The Day (http://bit.ly/2r48J7r ) reports that a jury Thursday found 59-year-old Francisco Moran guilty of second-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and coercion.

 

Mudslide, floods in Sri Lanka kill 25; 42 missing

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka >> Sri Lanka's government says the death toll from floods and mudslides that have lashed the island in the last 24 hours has risen to 25 with 42 people missing.The Disaster Management Center says more than 7,800 persons are affected by the calamity.Home Affairs Minister Vajira Abeywardana told reporters Friday that the adverse weather conditions in southern and western parts of the island could still worsen in the next 72 hours.
