Gannett to buy Journal Media Group

Gannett Co. Inc. said Wednesday it plans to buy Journal Media Group, parent company of Treasure Coast Newspapers and newspapers in 13 other markets, for about $280 million in cash. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2016 if it receives regulatory and shareholder approval.

At the rate their numbers have been increasing — 25 percent over the past five years — they could fill yet another school by next year.
