7 Huntsville, Madison high school seniors named Merit Scholars for 2014

The students are among 2,500 winners from across the United States. According to a news release from the National Merit Scholarship Program, the winners were chosen from a pool of 15,000 finalists.

Geronimo Circle: A woman was shot at while driving in the 6000 block near Pueblo Drive close to 11 p.m. Monday. She told police four bullets struck the vehicle.

 

Today's north Alabama weather: High near 86, sun

The Huntsville office of the National Weather Service predicts highs in the mid-80s today and Thursday. The only exception would be higher terrain in the northeast corner of Alabama, which should be more in the low 80s. Clouds will not be a factor, and the only light winds will be between 5 and 10 mph.

 

Cutting at Huntsville homeless camp sends woman to hospital; suspect being questioned

Police, HEMSI and Huntsville Fire & Rescue responded to the camp at about 1 a.m. They found a woman had been cut on the arm. The injuries were not serious, and she was transported to the Huntsville Hospital.
