Estates stores bought by 7-Eleven closing Sunday

After 30 years of offering pretty much the only game in town, owners of Estates Country Stores — formerly called G's Country Stores — will close their two Golden Gate Estates locations Sunday.

Collier, Lee jobless rates drop

Jobless rates fell last month in Lee and Collier counties. In September, Lee’s unemployment rate dropped to 5.1 percent, down from 5.4 percent in August and 6 percent a year ago, according a monthly report released Friday by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
