Homeless man receives probation, jail time for sexual assault

Justin Thompson, 32, pleaded guilty Friday before Judge Tom Difanis to attempted criminal sexual assault in connection with an Aug. 31 attack on a woman he had just met that day.

URBANA — A man who admitted he tried to have sex with a woman against her will has been sentenced to three years of probation and six months in the county jail.

 

Probation for Urbana woman involved in gift card scheme

Part of a group of women responsible for stealing several thousand dollars worth of gift cards and merchandise from Target, 2102 N. Prospect Ave., C, between Dec. 13 and Jan. 3.

URBANA — Another woman who admitted her role in a gift card theft scheme from a local box store has been sentenced to probation.
