Getty Images China's Huawei is the largest corporate sponsor of international trips for Australian politicians. Over the last eight years it paid for 12 international trips, twice as many as the next highest corporate sponsor. The Chinese government also paid for accommodation for seven politicians. Huawei is currently trying to provide equipment for Australia's 5G network despite intelligence and security warnings about providing the firm access to critical infrastructure. China's Huawei has paid for Australian politicians' overseas trips more than any other company in the world. Over the last eight years, the Chinese firm has funded 12 international trips to China for federal MPs, more than double the number of trips provided by the next highest corporate sponsor, Fortescue Metals Group, owned by mining billionaire Andrew Forrest.
