Theater review: Senior Repertory's 'Follies' resonates with melodies, romance

Follies is a classic example of an early Stephen Sondheim musical: It has gorgeous melodies, a cynically romantic tone and almost no plot. The two-act musical, first produced in 1971 -- a year after the better-known Company -- is a perfect choice for Senior Repertory of Ohio Theatre Company. It's set at the reunion for the women who performed at a burlesque theater shut down 30 years ago and now about to be torn down to make room for a parking garage.
