The Sac-Joaquin Section board of managers on Wednesday unanimously voted against a proposal that would delete a bylaw exemption that allows spring and fall high school soccer players to also play for their club teams. The CIF is considering dropping the exemption, which would force girls playing soccer in the spring to choose between their high school team or their club team because of injury concerns. The board also unanimously voted against a proposed bylaw change that would bar international students from playing the varsity sport that they played the season before enrolling at a California high school.
