Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and Mayor Gavin Newsom met under the San Francisco City Hall rotunda for Newsom to officially welcome yachting's highest prize '” the America's Cup '” and its hottest honcho to town. Ellison's BMW Oracle Racing team had won the cup in a 2-0 rout of the Swiss team Alinghi a week ago in Spain, and it was on its way to what will become its home port for several years, the Golden Gate Yacht Club.
