A number of sports were approved for fixed-odds sports betting in Brazil, less than 24 hours before the markets opened after being made legal. This comes after the South American country has officially allowed licensed gambling operators to accept online sports betting and casino wagers following a six year process of legalization. The full launch took place on New Years Day (January 1) with a total of 68 licenses approved. As for the sports that are now eligible to be bet on, these are vast and include football, basketball, boxing, baseball, hockey, cricket, tennis, and surfing.
